Experience the Ray Charles Project
The legendary Ray Charles not only pioneered the genre of soul music, he was a master of many others — including blues, rhythm and blues, gospel, country, pop, and even jazz.
Frank Sinatra called him “the only true genius in show business.” And could he put on a show!
Those are big shoes to fill — but the Ray Charles Project has big feet!
Plugged In and Turned On In Paradise features two of the band members plus a special guest -- some of the biggest talents from San Francisco Bay Area.

You probably know him best as a lead vocalist for both Santana and Dancing with the Stars, but he’s also performed and recorded with the O’Jays, Al Jarreau, Steve Winwood, Aretha Franklin, Lou Rawls.
And if that’s not enough, he’s been a featured performer at the Baseball World Series and the Super-Bowl!

Chris Cain
At the age of three, Chris Cain was mystically baptized in the blues while listening to the legendary BB King in concert.
He’s put out nine solo albums and is considered one of the most compelling bluesmen today by people who should know, like Albert King and Robben Ford.
Cain's debut recording, Late Night City Blues (Blue Rock'it Records-1987) garnered four W.C. Handy Blues Award nominations, including Guitarist of the Year. Dan Forte of Guitar Player wrote, "An impressive debut album by a top notch guitarist."

Meet the band
Ray Charles Project is a rock solid line-up all-stars. In addition to Tony, Chris and (special guest) Danny there are:
The amazing voice of Glenn Walters (not pictured). Glenn co-founded The Hoodoo Rhythm Devils with his partner Joe Crane, put out five critically successful albums, and toured and performed with some of the major acts of the 70's, including Steely Dan, Savoy Brown, Uriah Heep, Johnny Winter, The Pointer Sisters and Sammy Hagar. You’ve heard his voice on countless national TV commercials, and he was “The Wolfman” in The Nightmare Before Christmas.
Eamonn Flynn was the keyboardist on the movie soundtrack for The Commitments. He’s recorded and toured worldwide with Michael Franti and Spearhead, Elvin Bishop, Coco Montoya, Michelle Shocked, Maria Muldaur, and many more.
Drummer Deszon Claiborne has played behind blues great Charles Brown, and he is also the dynamic tick-tock for Clockwork and the Tammy Hall Trio.
The man who leads and plays bass for the Project, DeWayne Pate, gets around too. Dewayne has worked with Steve Lukather, Huey Lewis and the News, Boz Scaggs, Maria Muldaur, Robben Ford, Pat Benatar, Charlie Musselwhite, and Arturo Sandoval. In addition, Dewayne has been a columnist for Bassics Magazine, and his highly acclaimed instructional video The Art of Tapping is now being sold around the globe.
