Introducing Ian Ethan Case

“It was refreshing to witness a guitarist who has created his own style and is not emulating a host of other players." –Devon "Doc" Wendell, The International Review of Music: 2013 NAMM Convention Performance Highlights / irom.wordpress.com
“The results of [Ian’s] exploration are stunning, beautiful, moving and expressive...be prepared to hear something like you’ve never heard before, to venture into wild and uncharted territory.” –Jen O’Callaghan, Nashua Telegraph / Encore / Granite Sounds (Nashua, NH)
"Revolutionary...blazing talent! One of the most distinctive, talented performers we’ve featured.” –Elise MacDonald, Founder/Owner of Studio 99 (Nashua, NH)

One of only five musicians in the world to champion the double-neck guitar as a serious instrument, Ian Ethan Case is proving he has the chops and compositions to lift it into a whole new realm.
His live performances are a visually stunning experience. Ian taps and slaps the instrument as if his hands were dancing, leaping back and forth between twelve strings and six. Sometimes he’ll lean over and sing into his guitar, a ghost-like effect to raise the hair on one’s neck. Not your average guitarist with a looper pedal, Ian is a wizard with electronic and digital media, layering blocks of harmony into intricate, undulating textures that range from sublime to intense. Listening with eyes closed, it seems impossible that so much music is coming out of one guy.
Ian’s rambunctious approach to the instrument weaves in several influences – minimalism, funk, new-age, jazz, rock, and Celtic, to name a few. The music of Pat Metheny and Michael Hedges comes to mind. His original compositions are rich, heartfelt, powerfully uplifting, and works of genius.
Emmy-winning composer and producer Peter Bruce Wilder saw his potential early on: “Ian Ethan represents something so new in musical approach, that the result is near impossible to pigeon hole into a ‘sounds like’ statement. It has been my personal privilege to observe his unwavering and deep exploration of this new technique and on a relatively rare instrument; the original music of Ian Ethan Case is not to be missed.”
Drummer and percussionist G Maxwell Zemanovic joins Ian for this performance. His sensitive, responsive artistry at the kit is a perfect fit to Ian’s oeuvre. G Maxwell records, tours and educates on three continents – Australia, Asia, and the U.S and Canada.
