And that’s how session guitarist Laurence Juber began his memorable journey as lead guitarist for Paul McCartney and Wings. With a career spanning five decades as a sought-after studio musician in London, New York, Los Angeles, and beyond, Juber’s playing can be heard on numerous films, television shows, and pop hits. His first studio assignment was working under legendary producer George Martin. He’s laid down tracks for Paul, George and Ringo, Cleo Laine, Carly Simon, Dan Hicks & The Hot Licks, Barry Manilow, Belinda Carlisle, and Seal; TV shows such as Home Improvement; and sound tracks for films such as The Spy Who Loved Me, Dirty Dancing, Good Will Hunting, Pocahontas, and much more.
Juber is known around the world as a master of acoustic fingerstyle guitar. With 23 solo acoustic instrumental albums under his belt, he was voted “Guitarist of the Year” by readers of Fingerstyle Guitar Magazine, and Acoustic Guitar Magazine readers chose him as one of the top acoustic players of all time. Martin Guitars collaborated with him on a custom signature Laurence Juber model. Pete Townsend calls him “A master.”
