Introducing Chris Cain
"When I interviewed B.B. King back in '05 I asked him if he had heard the album Cain does King and BB paused, got a huge ear-to-ear grin and said 'Chris Cain? Now that boy can PLAY the guitar.' He loved Chris!"

At the age of three, Chris Cain was mystically baptized in the blues while listening to the legendary BB King in concert.
At the age of eight, Chris taught himself guitar and began playing professionally before he was eighteen. He studied music at San Jose City College, and was soon teaching jazz improvisation on campus. Over the next twenty years, he would also master piano, bass guitar, clarinet, alto and tenor saxophone. The combination of his blues upbringing and his jazz studies melded to form the searing guitar style that sets Chris Cain apart and has moved him to the top ranks of the blues music scene.
A native of San Jose, Chris began playing California blues clubs in the mid-'80s, most notably JJ's Cafe and JJ's Lounge South Bay circuit.

Chris's jazz-tinged, blues-soaked guitar and deep, warm vocals have the maturity and authenticity of bluesmen many years his senior. His expressive style is the result of a lifetime of study and the relentless pursuit of music mastery.
His debut recording, Late Night City Blues (Blue Rock'it Records-1987) garnered four W.C. Handy Blues Award nominations, including Guitarist of the Year. Dan Forte of Guitar Player wrote, "An impressive debut album by a top notch guitarist."
Chris has put out nine solo albums and is considered one of the most compelling bluesmen today by people who should know, like Albert King and Robben Ford.
In addition to his solo work, Chris fronts or has joined forces with a number of Bay Area bands. He is a founding member of Blue Monday, Pure Cain Boogie, and is currently playing with The Ray Charles Project and The Guitarsonists.
Chris Cain is a must-see performer, and we're thrilled to bring his top-class talent to you on Plugged In and Turned On In Paradise!
